I'm so happy September is here! The weather is becoming warmer, the blossoms on the trees are appearing, everyone is smiling, and lots of new growth is starting to appear. I'm currently thinking about heading off into the glasshouse and what seeds to plant for our veggie patch. I was reading a gardening book last night and there was a chapter on seed saving and how they have seed swapping gatherings. I think this would be a fabulous idea as I love saving seeds and have huge box of seeds to share. If you would be interested in getting together for a seed swapping gathering, or you know of this sort of gathering happening in Whanganui send me an email so I can start swapping seeds firstname.lastname@example.org
It's been a busy week, I've been trimming the lavender and getting the garden into shape before spring fully sets in. One thing I've noticed this year is how many seedlings have popped up this year. We have a wide variety of plants coming up from bay, cherry, camellia, to locusts. I'm hoping to get time to pot them before they get too big so I can pass them on. Last year Mum and I took cuttings of our Pacific Blue Lavender which are coming along nicely, so I should have a good supply to sell around Christmas time. There's something really satisfying about seeing plants grow from something so small. Yes I'm so grateful to have such an abundant garden!I have a feeling this year is going to be a good year for produce. Aother job I finally got around to making a sign for out on the road so you can't miss our place anymore.
Holistic Spiritual Fair
I had a fantastic in Feilding thanks to Graham and Cass who put on a cracker event. I meet loads of wonderful people and made some lovely new friends. I was really happy with the response that I got with all our new products, so all in all it was a very successful day all around. Here are some photos of the stall I put together for the event.
I enjoyed myself so much that I booked a space for another Wellbeing Festival in Masterton beginning of October, scroll down to the events coming up for more information.
I've been totally inspired by this amazing group of children from Avondale Intermediate. These beautiful souls have created a group and meet once a week to help homeless people in Auckland. I read all about what they were up to through their teacher, who through facebook reached out for help and support for their cause. They are doing awesome things like these pamper packs, creating a garden to grow food, and planning to have their first soup kitchen on the 27th October. I already have sent them 10 bags and want to have many more to send them before their event so that everyone that goes gets a bag. You to can help me achieve this goal, if it's something that also touches your heart. Visit my website to find out how.
The first batch of bags as you can see in the photo included a little bag of goodies - coffee, tea, biscuits, chocolate and Grain Waves. A flannel, lip balm, a spray, deodorant, tissues, postcard addressed to parliament and pen, an affirmation card, crystals for protection and courage, and a love note. In the future I would like to add toothpaste, a toothbrush, sunscreen, and some money for them.
I've been wanting to do something for a long time, so I'm super glad I have started. When I was in Auckland last year I was shocked to see how many people where sleeping on the street and tucked some cash into someone's pocket on my way past them, and wanted to help more! I love giving gifts so this feels extremely right for me to do. I have the best time making them and fill them with so much love. I will be making them up every month and would like to share the love all over New Zealand not just Auckland. I'm looking for other organisations to get these bags out to the homeless. If you know of a good organisation that would benefit from having these packs please let me know by sending me an email.
If you want to help you can either help by donating money, time, or just write a love note to add into a bag. Any money donated will be added to the cart and all of the donated money will help subsidise more bags for this cause and this cause only! Please add a wee note in the comments at check out so I can put one into each of the bags in a batch that your money has help subsidised. I will be adding a thank you into my newsletter for all those that contribute unless stated otherwise.
Lets spread the love and help create a much needed change. Visit our website to find out more and to help this cause.

Grate the zest the lemons and then squeeze their juice and strain. Heat the butter, lemon juice, and sugar in a double boiler until all the sugar is dissolved. Then take off the heat and add the beaten eggs and zest. Put back on the heat and stir until the mixture thickens. Pour into sterilised jars and store in the refrigerator. This makes about four 250gm jars.
